Notes

Lynds’ Dark Nebula (LDN) 1622 is an extremely compact and dense dark molecular cloud in the constellation of Orion.

A small illuminated part of LDN 1622 is the reflection nebula vdB 62. The gases of the nebula wrap around the star HD 288313, also known as V1793 Orionis. V1793 Orionis is a K-type orange dwarf and responsible for lighting the cloud, which thus takes on an orange color.
